Pokemon Exceeded is a Pokemon ROM that was developed/Created by Beniboy (Original Creator) The current version of the ROM is ‘v8.4’ which is based on Pokemon Emerald. The ROM was last updated on ‘July 28, 2023’ and the new version is yet to be rolled out.


Pokémon Exceeded is a special version of the old Pokémon Emerald game. It has something called “Innate,” which is like a power unique to each Pokémon. Each Pokémon can have up to three Innate powers. These powers affect how the game plays. You can find new Pokémon by leveling up, making friends, evolving, or completing quests. The main story is a lot like the old Pokémon Emerald, but you can explore more freely at one point. After finishing the main story, there’s something extra called the Pokémon Battle Frontier, where you can meet new Pokémon and use different strategies to have more fun.

  • Exciting Additions – Included new side quests, maps, and items for added gameplay excitement.
  • Custom Starter Pokémon – Allowed players to pick their starter Pokémon, including options from different regions.
  • Enhanced Abilities and Moves – Added over 150 new abilities and moves, bringing new strategies and variety.
  • Gameplay Customization – Provided options for players to customize their gameplay experience with different challenges and modes.
  • Difficulty Levels – Offered four difficulty levels to suit various player preferences.
  • Improved Mechanics – Reusable TMs and move tutors, better experience sharing, reworked stats and damage formulas, and manual EV distribution for refined gameplay.
  • Special Status and Weather Effects – Introduced new status conditions like Frostbite, adjusted Hail’s effects, and tweaked weather mechanics for better balance.
  • Mega Evolutions – Featured the exciting Mega Evolutions for certain Pokémon.
  • Helpful Tools – Included DexNav to aid players in capturing Pokémon, and access to move relearners.
  • Text Improvement – Improved the game’s text by making it more readable through decapitalization.



  • New TMs and Moves:
  • Added TM66 Headbutt, TM67 Zap Cannon, and TM68 Chilling Water, along with new moves like Absolute Zero and Fire in the Hole.
  • Improved Gameplay:
  • Enhanced the game by adding headbutt encounters to various types of trees and fixing various bugs related to sprites, animations, move effects, and item functionality.
  • Gym Leader Adjustments:
  • Balanced the levels and signature Pokémon for all gym leaders and elite four members to match the level cap.
  • Ability and Move Adjustments:
  • Made adjustments to abilities like Corrosion and Rough Skin to not affect certain abilities, and modified the effects of the Voodoo Doll move.
  • NPC and Rewards Tweaks:
  • Altered the rewards given by Brendan and May, and refined the impact of certain abilities like Magic Guard on Momentum damage.
  • New Abilities and Moves:
  • Introduced new abilities like Slotted Shell, Grimtooth, and Traumatic Fist for more strategic options.
  • Game Time Setting:
  • Aligned the game’s start time with the emulator’s time, though the month remains a challenge to synchronize.


  • Gameplay Changes:
  • Made changes to the Nuzlocke and OneType Challenge, no longer requiring specific Pokémon that learn HMs.
  • New Abilities and Moves:
  • Introduced various new abilities like Gem Hoarder, Cleansing Chime, Jaw Trap, and moves like Aurora Dance and Mustard Gas.
  • Item Adjustments:
  • Made changes to Ability Patch functionality, Mega Stones/Primal Orbs, and how items are acquired.
  • Battle and Encounter Fixes:
  • Addressed various issues related to battle mechanics, encounter bugs, move damages, and status conditions.
  • Wild Encounters:
  • Added new wild encounters in different areas like Petalburg Woods, trees, and Safari.
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed bugs related to roaming Pokémon, abilities, move effects, and display issues.
  • Quality of Life Improvements:
  • Implemented quality-of-life improvements, allowing for better control over Pokémon and their attributes during gameplay.
